REMEMBRANCE SUNDAY 2022

MINISTER:
I lift up my eyes to the mountains, where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth. (Psalm 121.1-2)

We meet in the presence of God.
We commit ourselves to work in penitence and faith
for the reconciliation between the nations,
That all people may together, live in freedom, justice & peace.

We pray for all who in bereavement, disability and pain,
continue to suffer the consequences of fighting and terror.

We remember with thanksgiving and sorrow, those whose lives,
in world wars, and in conflicts past & present,
have been given or taken away.

PAUSE

Amazing Grace how sweet the sound
that saved a wretch like me
I once was lost, but now am found
Was blind, but now I see

T'was grace that taught my heart to fear
And grace my fears, relieved
How precious did that grace appear
The hour I first believed

The Lord has promised good to me
His Word, my hope secures
He will, my shield and portion, be
As longs as life endures

When we've been there ten thousand years
Bright shining as the sun
We've no less days to sing God's praise
Than when we first begun

-

Minister:
They shall not grow old, as we that are left grow old;
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.

At the going down of the sun and in the morning:

All:      We will remember them.

Please pause with us for a minute's silence, to be concluded with The Last Post

Minister:
When you go home, tell them of us and say:
For your tomorrow, we gave our today.

-

Minister:
God grant to the living, grace;
The departed, rest;
All the world, peace.

And the blessing of God Almighty,
The Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit,
Be among you and remain with you always.

All:      Amen.
